Measure once.
Compare honestly.

One independent home assessment. One standard scope. Vetted local contractors bid on the same written job.

Loudoun · Fairfax · Prince William01 Assess 02 Scope 03 Bid 04 Install

Replacing your heating and cooling shouldn’t mean guessing. We measure your home independently, write one clear scope of work, and have vetted local contractors bid on it. You compare real prices side by side and get a system sized for your house.

Who’s behind 1Stop

I used to be the one at your kitchen table with the quote.

I’ve spent more than six years in HVAC here in Northern Virginia, first in the field and then designing and selling replacement systems, with factory training from Lennox, Trane, Carrier and Mitsubishi. I know how a quote gets put together: what’s included, what quietly gets reused, and where the margin sits.

Too often a family ends up with three quotes they can’t compare. 1Stop is my answer: measure the house once, write it down plainly, and let good local contractors compete on the same job.

How it works

Four steps. One visit.

One unhurried visit to measure your home properly. Everything after that happens on your schedule, from your phone.

Step 02 · The home assessment
  1. Book a free home assessment

Tell us about your home and pick a time. There’s no cost and no obligation for homeowners.

  2. We measure, independently

A 1Stop Comfort Consultant runs a Manual J load calculation, photographs your existing equipment and ductwork, and sketches the system layout.

  3. Vetted contractors bid on one scope

Licensed, insured local contractors price the same documented scope of work. No sales visits, no guesswork.

  4. Choose, then track the install

Compare bids side by side, pick one, and follow equipment, scheduling and sign-off in one place.

What happens at the assessment

Your consultant runs a room-by-room Manual J load calculation, so the system is sized to your house rather than to the old unit’s label. They also record the details contractors usually skip until install day:

  • Electrical panel, breaker and wire sizes
  • Refrigerant line sizes, and whether they can be reused
  • Condensate drain route and overflow protection
  • Gas piping type and CSST bonding
  • Flue type and venting
  • Supply and return duct sizes, with airflow in CFM
  • Equipment location and access
  • Thermostat wiring

What you get back

Bids you can actually compare.

Every bid in the same layout, in plain English, with anything that differs from your scope flagged. Try the sample for a made-up Ashburn home.

Questions

What does it cost me?

Nothing. The home assessment and the bids are free to homeowners. Contractors pay to take part in the network.

Who are the Comfort Consultants?

1Stop employees, not contractor salespeople. Their job is to document your home accurately, not to sell you a brand.

How are contractors vetted?

Before they can bid, contractors must show an active Virginia contractor license and current insurance. We review every participating company.

My system just died. Can you help?

If you have no heat or cooling right now, call a local contractor for emergency service first. 1Stop is built for planned replacements, where a few days to compare bids saves real money.

Where do you work?

Loudoun, Fairfax and Prince William counties in Northern Virginia, to start.
